Frequently asked questions
How do I convert HEIC to JPG?
Drop the HEIC file (the format iPhones use for photos) onto the page, wait a few seconds, and press "Download". You get a JPG that works in email, on social media and in any app. No software or account is needed.
Which image formats are supported?
HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and other common formats. Images with transparency become PNG; everything else becomes JPG. RAW camera formats are not supported.
How big will the converted image be?
If the long edge is over 1920px it is reduced automatically, and the quality is tuned so the file stays under 2MB. Small images are never enlarged.
Can it convert an animated GIF?
Currently only the first frame is converted, as a still image. Converting while keeping the animation is not supported.
Is location data removed?
Yes. GPS location and other shooting data (Exif and similar metadata) are removed from the converted image.
Are my images stored on your server?
No. An uploaded image is sent to the server only to be converted and is discarded when processing finishes.
